On November 15, 2024, Vanaya Indonesia had the honor of hosting a significant online talk show as part of Erickson Coaching International’s global roadshow, which celebrates 45 years of impact in the coaching industry.


This global roadshow involved partners from all over the world, each hosting their own unique events centered around the theme of coaching’s transformative power. Vanaya Indonesia’s event, titled "The Role of Coaching in Empowering Leaders of Indonesia," was one of the regional celebrations that brought together influential leaders to share their experiences and insights on how coaching has shaped their leadership practices and professional journeys.


The event, which was hosted by Ananta Dewandhono, CEO of Vanaya Indonesia, featured key speakers such as Albertha Sekundarti, Country Director of Human Resources at The Ascott Limited; Kamariah Latief, Vice President of PS Education at Telkom Foundation; and Diana Gunawan, Leadership, Performance, and Business Coach at Vanaya Indonesia. Each speaker provided a unique perspective on the role of coaching in leadership, performance, and professional development.

Exploring the Impact of Coaching on Leadership, Performance, and Professional Growth

Each of the speakers was invited to reflect on the impact of coaching in their own lives and careers, sharing how coaching has influenced their professional development, leadership roles, and performance.


Albertha Sekundarti, Country Director of Human Resources at The Ascott Limited, was asked about the impact of coaching on leadership. She explained that coaching has been a vital tool in helping her enhance her leadership qualities, especially in managing diverse teams and fostering an inclusive organizational culture.


Through coaching, she has developed deeper self-awareness, which has enabled her to lead with empathy and create a work environment where employees feel valued and empowered. Albertha emphasized that coaching has been instrumental in honing the skills needed to navigate complex leadership challenges and support the growth of her team.


Kamariah Latief, Vice President of PS Education at Telkom Foundation, was invited to discuss the impact of coaching on performance. Kamariah explained how coaching has enhanced her ability to drive performance within her team and align organizational goals with individual aspirations.


Through coaching, she has become more focused and strategic in her approach to leadership, learning how to balance high expectations with the well-being of her colleagues. Kamariah believes that coaching has empowered her to inspire and motivate others to achieve their best work while maintaining a strong sense of purpose and clarity.


Diana Gunawan, Leadership, Performance, and Business Coach at Vanaya Indonesia, was asked about the impact of professional coaching in her own practice. Diana, who is a coach herself, discussed how coaching has shaped her approach to helping others unlock their potential.


She shared that coaching has taught her the importance of listening, asking the right questions, and providing personalized support to help clients achieve both personal and professional growth. Diana emphasized that coaching is not just about giving advice but about creating a collaborative space where individuals can discover their own solutions and build sustainable success.
